New Crystal Bridges Overlook Now Open
January 19, 2012
Throughout most of the construction process for Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, AR, an elevated wooden observation deck provided pedestrians on the Crystal Bridges Trail with a view of the work in progress. Today, that deck is being dismantled because a new permanent overlook has opened on Crystal Bridges Trail. The new overlook offers panoramic views of the museum, as well as seating and landscaping.

Northwest Arkansas Volunteers Graduate from Crystal Bridges’ Guide Training

More than 60 volunteers from Northwest Arkansas have recently completed training to become Gallery and Trail guides at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. The program, which includes a full year of classes with museum curators and educators, prepares the volunteers to answer questions and provide insight for museum guests about all that Crystal Bridges has to offer.

Shewmaker Gift to Support Hands-On Education at Crystal Bridges

A $1 million gift from the Jack and Melba Shewmaker family will benefit the ongoing hands-on educational programs offered at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. The donation, which is part of the museum's Next Generation endowment fund, will provide supplies and ongoing maintenance for the museum's studio art experiences.

Crystal Bridges Selects Communications Director

Laura Jacobs has been chosen to serve as director of communications for Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Jacobs will coordinate and oversee all the marketing, public relations and branding for the museum, as well as coordinating the museum's social media and internal communications. She also will serve as editor of the museum's membership magazine, which will be published three times a year.

Crystal Bridges: Timed Tickets Will Be Required for Opening Day Reservations now open for tickets for Museum opening on 11-11-11

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art is anticipating a large number of visitors on its opening day, 11-11-11. To assure entry for all, reserved, timed tickets will be required to enter the museum from Friday, Nov. 11 through Monday, Jan. 2. Museum officials recommend reserving timed tickets well in advance.

Walmart Donates $20 Million to Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art to Sponsor Admission

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art today announced a $20 million grant from Walmart to cover admission fees for all visitors. Prior to the grant, a $10 admission fee was being considered for adults.
